Downtown Bridgeport is the Place to Be

If you are not from the Connecticut area, you may not realize how amenity and culturally rich Downtown Bridgeport, CT is. From fine dining and regional theater to sporting events and concerts, it is a pretty fantastic place that more and more people are discovering every year.

The number of entertainment arenas, museums and restaurants are diverse and vast. There are too many to mention in this Riverwalk Blog, but here is a quick menu of things to do and places to go in Bridgeport to get you started.

The Arena at Harbor Yard
600 Main Street, Bridgeport
Bridgport's state-of-the-art entertainment complex that hosts world famous musicians, entertainment spectators, professional sports, special events, trade shows, conventions and more.
Upcoming Event: Walking the Dinosaurs - June 15th and 16th

The Barnum Museum
820 Main Street, Bridgeport
The one and only P.T. Barnum, creator of the "Greatest Show on Earth" was, believe it or not, once the mayor of Bridgeport. To house his treasure trove of artifacts and information is the unforgettable Barnum Museum, a structure that is a blend of Romanesque and Moorish architecture. This museum is a must see. Where else can you find the clothing and carriage that belonged to the original General Tom Thumb? (also a Bridgeport resident)
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10 am-4:30 pm; Sundays 12 pm - 4:30 pm.

Ralph n Rich's
814 Main Street, Bridgeport
It is difficult to choose one Bridgeport restaurant, when there are so many amazing options, but Ralph n Rich's is a sure bet. Zagat survey rated as one of America's Top Italian Restaurants and chosen by Connecticut's Attorneys and law firms as "The Best After Work Pub," Ralph 'n' Rich's is one popular place to be. It serves up a surreal, dream-like interior, a friendly staff, good wine and wonderful cuisine.

If the excitement of Bridgeport is something you love, but you're not sure if you want to live in the heart of the city, consider the Riverwalk Condominiums. Hop on the train and you're downtown in minutes, then come home at the end of the day to classic and peaceful living in a Riverwalk Condominium. Just give me a call and I would be happy to provide you with more information.
